Lakes Region Community College enlisted Fred Matuszewski to help create a 35,000 S.F. academic building. This Center for Arts & Technology was completed to become the home to Computer Technologies, Electrical Technologies, Fine Arts, Fire Technologies, Graphic Design and Energy Services and Technology. Also housed in this building are the Computer Sciences, Fire Sciences and Fine Arts programs.
This building realizes the first phase of a master plan to consolidate the college's two campuses onto the 42 acre site on Rt. 106. This building provides state of the art facilities to the relocated Graphic Arts and Building Construction programs, formerly located on the north campus.
Skylights and open wells, formed by curved walls, flank the corridors to bring natural daylight through the building's central two story wing. These features add interest to the building while fostering energy efficiency.
